We were delighted to meet the Zapp family who have spent 17 years on the road, travelling everywhere from Argentina to Australia! Yesterday they stopped off in York. On our way back from a meeting in Thirsk we spotted them and we swapped a copy of their amazing book for a bottle of Tancream! Keeping them sun safe during their globe trotting.

Team Tancream met with the MelanomaMe. Charity and their team on 17th August – what an inspirational team and very moving presentation. The work they do is voluntary but essential for the patients and families suffering with Melanoma skin cancer. Tancream and MelanomaMe. will now begin a partnership to help raise awareness of the importance of sun protection, early diagnosis and mole checks!

MelanomaMe. was founded as a result of Kerry’s skin cancer story and the journey Elaine shared with her as her friend and colleague. It became evident that more support and counselling for both patients and carers were needed.

The reason for sharing Kerry’s story is for a few reasons, one, to raise awareness and to show people that Melanomas are not always obvious. Two, to reaffirm the need for psychological support for patients and carers, from an organisation that truly understands the complexity and trauma involved in diagnosis and living with Melanoma.

“I was delighted to meet with Gillian and Katy, two energetic inspiring local mums who have created a successful product which addresses a very important health issue. With skin cancer on the increase in the UK, costing the NHS millions, their work in raising awareness of the importance of sun protection is hugely important.

Understanding the facts about skin cancer and the preventative measures regarding sun safety that can be taken to minimise the risks is high on the health prevention agenda. Tancream is designed to allow people to enjoy the sun safely and Gillian and Katy hope that their product will help to reduce the rise in skin cancer.”

Announcing Tancream working with York Against Cancer to help fund dermatoscopes into GP surgeries in order to fast-track diagnosis. We are so pleased that our donation will hopefully make a difference and help speed up the treatment for patients with suspected skin cancer.

We enjoyed three very long days at our stand in the Yorkshire Enterprising Women Marquee at the Yorkshire Show… lots of lovely stalls and products and we were delighted to sell Tancream to the Yorkshire farming community! It was very well received and we loved meeting everyone and at least 2 of the days were rain free!!

From Lisbon to Shipton! Tancream is pleased to support local events too! Shipton Pre-school are raising money to fund a sensory garden and held a fashion show at the Sidings Hotel, Shipton. Tancream helped to boost funds with a stall and a raffle prize. A lovely evening.
