Tancream, a unique skin-care and sun-protection lotion company, has received a £75,000 investment after appearing on BBC Two’s Dragons’ Den.
Gillian Robson and Katy Foxcroft, co-founders of Tancream, offered a 10% stake in the business and the patent-pending product, in return for the investment.
The pair received an offer of the full £75,000, in exchange for a 25% share in the business from Peter Jones. However, the entrepreneurs opted to team up with new Dragon Sara Davies, and Touker Suleyman, who proposed to split the £75,000 investment between them, in exchange for an equal 12.5% stake.
Tancream™ was founded in 2017 by Gillian Robson and Katy Foxcroft.
After being diagnosed with skin cancer, company co-founder Gillian noticed a gap in the market for a product which offered the UV protection of sun cream combined with self-tanning, anti-ageing and moisturising properties.
Gillian, together with co-founder and Director Katy, worked with industry experts and the UK’s top suncare specialists for more than three years to develop a solution and Tancream was born.
Tancream carefully blends sunscreen and sunless tanning agents to create an innovative luxury face and body lotion offering SPF 50, a superior self-tan, a tint of natural bronzer and moisturising properties – all in one bottle.
